We are pleased to announce the creation of the San Diego Ethiopian Professionals’ Resource Group (SDEPRG). This group is intended to provide much-needed professional level advice and information to our community. It will play the needed role to inspire youngsters and newcomers so that they can plan out their future wisely and achieve their desired planned goals.
The goal of SDEPRG:
• Provide career advice to high school and college students.
• Provide university admission advice to high school college graduates.
• Provide internship and job opportunity information to college students and college graduates.
• Provide job opportunity openings information to each other
• Provide carrier and job opportunity advice to new arrival professionals and nonprofessional Ethiopians, so that they can plan out their new life in America effectively.
• Collaborate with other existing similar groups and expand the needed service to the wider community.
The requirement to Join this Group:
• A professional in any field of study at any level.
• Understands and believes the rules and goals of SDEPRG.
• Willing to share an email address, phone number, professional field, and a brief explanation of the area where the individual would be capable and willing to provide help.
• Willing to read this group’s email distributions on a regular basis and actively participate.
• Willing to share/post any useful and relevant information (like job and internship position openings) to the group.

• Email distribution lists for this group will be created and maintained.
• Email will be the main means of exchanging information.
• Phone calls also used to provide specific advice to the community member requesting it.
• There will be an annual in-person or online meeting to review and update the group’s goals and performance.
o The group would elect a couple of people to manage the group’s email list.
– The elected persons will need to have a much better knowledge of the resources that this group offers and will help in redirecting service requesting people to the right professional.
o New and better Ideas that help provide a better service to the community will be discussed and adapted as needed.
